The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Florida State Seminoles met in a showdown that featured two of college football's winningest coaches of that time as Joe Paterno's Lions met Bobby Bowden's Seminoles.
This was a slobber-knocker.
This BCS warfare saw the Penn State Nittany Lions made their first-ever appearance in the BCS stage, the Florida State Seminoles on the other hand, made their sixth appearance in eight years.
Many knew that the team to win this proverbial 'battle of legends' will definitely have their names etched forever with legendary status for years to come. The 2006 Orange Bowl certainly made both teams just that.
