The anticipation of the proverbial face-off between the USC Trojans and the Texas Longhorns began even before the 2005 season's gridiron battles on the NCAA football field started.
The USC Trojans and the Texas Longhorns both took the same road going into NCAA football's grandest stage.
The Trojans and the Longhorns both stood as the only undefeated teams in the country as all the other top teams in the league went down, one by one. Also, both teams were able to fend off late-season scares with impressive one-sided victories to finish the year.
The 4th of January, 2006, in Pasadena, the USC Trojans and the Texas Longhorns faced-off to decide the perennial kings of college football. The 2006 Rose Bowl saw the Texas Longhorns become kings of NCAA College Football.
